Welcome to South County Toastmasters!
Toastmasters was founded in 1924 in Santa Ana, California and is the world’s largest organization devoted to improving and developing individuals’ communication and leadership skills. Nearly five million people have enjoyed the benefits of Toastmasters membership. Currently, there are more than 9,600 Toastmasters clubs and 200,000 members in the United States, Canada, and 78 other countries.
South County Toastmasters are friendly, involved men and women from all walks of life who are not only interested in improving their own communication and leadership skills but are equally interested in helping others, no matter what their current skill level. At Toastmasters, we learn to improve our listening, thinking, and speaking skills in a very supportive, non-threatening, fun environment. Our club has consistently helped inexperienced, timid speakers become good, confident public speakers, and we have seen good speakers become even better speakers.
The South County Toastmasters club was chartered on October 6, 1975, and since that time has established an enviable record of achievement. Toastmasters International has recognized us as a President’s Select Club every year since 1977. In 1996, we were ranked the second best club of all Toastmasters clubs in the world! In addition, members of our club have won numerous speech contests at the Toastmasters Area, Division, and District levels. In 2001, one of our members, Kelly Standing, competed at the World Championship of Public Speaking as one of the nine best speakers in the world.
Thanks for visiting our club! We are very proud of who we are and what we do. We invite you to visit again on any Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the MetLife Building, 13045 Tesson Ferry Road, (Room 108),
St. Louis MO 63128.
We hope to see you again soon!
